The double-domes of Skalsatind igloo swell up gently from the tundra, joined by a mirror-walled corridor that – quite literally – blends into the landscape. Skalsatind provides a best-in-class igloo experience, with 1507 sq. ft of living space divided between an ensuite sleeping dome and a stylish arctic lounge with extra guest toilet. The interiors have been carefully crafted in glacial white-and-blue to reflect the beauty of their arctic surroundings, with finishing touches from renowned interior designer Christine Leikvoll. From the king size Odel bed with goose down duvets to the reclining chairs by the panoramic windows, the entire structure is an exhibition of the very best of nature-oriented Nordic design.

As well as full temperature control, the igloos are equipped with wood burning stoves to provide a touch of traditional winter comfort. There is an in-house cocktail station, with top-end hot drinks appliances and light refreshments for you to enjoy. The ensuite bathroom contains a shower and double sink vanity, whilst a private jacuzzi stands on the terrace beneath the open sky. From here, you have a clear view northwards towards Skalsatind mountain, from which these igloos take their name. In recent years, professional skiers have competed to become the first to reach Skalsatind’s forbidding, volcano-shaped peak, but none have yet succeeded.

Huldrestein is a big boulder located in the forest 500m north-east of here, local lore has it that this is the home of the mythical creature Huldra. A beautiful creature in the form of a woman, wandering the woods looking for lost children and men that she could lure into her home, never to be seen again. The tail would be the only thing that would distinguish the Huldra from a regular woman.

This igloo is situated just beneath a small berg higher up in the terrain than the other igloos, giving you a sheltered feeling from the rest of the world, along with a superb view of the entire fjord.

The Huldrestein igloo has a black and blue theme, we have fitted it with two really comfortable rocking chairs, a beautiful lamp, a stylish table, bedside tables and clothing rack. The igloo has a private bathroom and a private jacuzzi on the terrace.

We want you to sleep well and fitted this igloo with high quality beds from Odel and goose down duvets. For the warmer days and nights, we have a new high tech portable air-condition that will help you cool down. You will also find a coffee machine, electric kettle and water dispenser that you may use to get a much needed hot or cold drink.

The cozy Vika igloo is located right at the shore of the fjord - when lying in bed, it feels like you are hovering above the fjord. Guests enjoy direct views of both the Øksfjordjøkel glacier and the spectacular Kvænangstindan mountain range.

Its big terrace, private jacuzzi, and seating corner outside the igloo invites you to enjoy the Midnight Sun or the Northern Lights. This igloo is equipped with a queen size bed from Odel and goose down duvets, comfortable recliner chairs and a fully equipped bathroom.

The temperature in the igloo can be regulated thanks to the underfloor heating, a heat pump and air-conditioning. With a private Wi-Fi network, coffee and tea facilities, and a minibar, guests can relax and enjoy their time in the comfort of their igloo, ensuring a peaceful and private experience.
